First of all, what is Appendicitis? Appendicitis is a condition of appendix inflammation. So far no one knows what the actual function of appendix is. Living without it will not cause any problems.

Appendicitis happen when appendix is blocked by foreign object. It can also occur due to infection because our appendix can swell as a reaction to infection. There are a few symptoms that might indicate you’re having appendicitis. Appendicitis does not have specific symptoms, some of them are actually hard to detect.

The first sign that you are having appendicitis is, you will experience dull pain near the upper or navel abdomen and it can become sharp as it reaches the lower right abdomen part.

As much as patients suffer from appendicitis, doctors also are not very knowledgeable about its diagnosis. There has not been found yet a certain similarity in all symptoms by which they can easily identify when appendicitis develops. If the symptoms are an illness, then it has become even harder to detect because the conjoining symptoms are not known to add to mystery. But it is not a total mystery as there are some common symptoms that can judge the condition in a patient. These are pains that keep coming back often in the lower abdomen region, a lessened appetite, diarrhea, nausea, fever that is not too serious, the expansion of the abdomen and constipation.

The danger of these symptoms is that they happen at only a very critical stage of the disease. People who truly suffer from this show but a few symptoms as have been listed and that too at very low intensities thus not really giving one scope to come to a conclusion of the better symptoms of appendicitis. The case is also such that only a few of these symptoms indeed are seen at a time which makes it hard to actually pin point the actually symptoms. The other issue is that there may be absolutely not symptoms or possible symptoms at all of appendicitis before the disease finally hits.

There is no age barrier for appendicitis as cases of the affected which have surfaced have shown with the favor of the disease falling upon the males. From among its younger victims, ages 3 and 15 are usually limits of the disease occurring and among the older victims, it is usually people who are 50 and above. In the case of the younger age bracket, one doesn’t really get to get themselves diagnosed with appendicitis because they don’t recognize certain symptoms as abnormal or bad health conditions. It is because of this reason that young patients get late treatment. Thus, they are not able to benefit from the treatment methods that are available as they don’t work when applied so late in the development of the disease. In the case of the older patients, this also happens very often. The most common symptoms in older aged people are not the regular symptoms and most times when it is discovered that they have sepsis and gangrene apart form also having appendicitis.

One deterring factor in the progress of treating the disease for people who are with special health conditions is that they do not understand the recognized symptoms to be symptoms. Hence, it cannot be reported and therefore it cannot be treated. People with other diseases and illnesses on the other hand also face the same issue as their diseases and illnesses which cause their symptoms to remain unseen. The only recognized symptom in such cases is extended fatigue and uneasiness which is common to say the least. HIV infected people are even more difficult to diagnose because these symptoms are even more discreet in their cases.
