Symptoms of Lung Cancer

The insinuations of lung cancer are critical and hence its sternness cannot be overlooked. However, it is not always possible to prevent or understand the symptoms of lung cancer but a basic knowledge about the symptoms can help us to reduce the paranoia.
Below are some of the frequently seen symptoms of lung cancer:
- The dumpiness of breath, which is generally known as dyspnea, is a common symptom.
- Though extreme corporeal activity may also cause dyspnea, but it is a lung cancer symptom too.
- Presence of blood in the cough, which in medical terms known as hemoptysis is a sign. One must not get confused with the term hematemesis, which indicates blood vomiting.
- A pain while coughing also may be a warning. Any unusual change in the coughing pattern might be a symptom of lung cancer.
- Unusual weight loss, severe exhaustion and a lack of craving for food, medically termed as cachexia, can also be measured a symptom.
- An ache in the chest, which again is linked with heart problems and many other therapeutic causes, is an indication of lung cancer.
Below are some less common but yet stern symptoms of lung cancer:
- Croakiness in voice, scientifically termed as cachexia, is a warning sign of the disease.
- A problem in swallowing the food, also termed as dysphagia, is yet one rarer sign. Though pain in swallowing could also be due to under dysphagia or odynophagia, but still it must not be ruled out.
- Inflammation of the neck or face could be an indication of lung cancer. The swelling in the neck occurs due to swollen lymph nodes, the major blood vessel impasse from the head is the cause for facial swelling.
- Malformation in fingernails and fingers, also termed as finger clubbing too is an unusual lung cancer symptom.
- The squatness of breath apart from dyspnea, may also be caused due to pleural effusion. It is scarce and refers to fluid in the region of the lungs.
- Cancer which is spread at the upper lung is medically termed pancoast tumor. This tumor may result in a shoulder pain, soreness in the bones, weakness of muscle, flagging eyelids and a lessening of the sweating on a face side.
There are some particular odd symptoms of lung cancer too. These peculiar symptoms occur due to the unwanted hormones raised due to lung cancer. Such odd symptoms of lung cancer are:
- Eyes protrusion
- No sensation in the hands, fingers and legs
- Appearance of bumps in the skin
- Unbearable abdominal pain and continual variation in sugar level
- Puffiness of breasts in men
- A lump in a salivary gland or in the tonsil
One must be careful about all the common, rare and odd symptoms to avoid the paranoia of lung cancer. If any such symptom persists the doctors must be informed immediately so that they could diagnose the exact problem. Earlier diagnosis of the cause can speed up the treatment.

that’s a positive thing then, atleast you are free from the slavery of cigarettes… i hope you don’t have lung cancer though?
lung cancer can be avoided if you stay out of air pollutants like some chemicals and tobacco smoke.~*-
