Your first prevention measures to avoid getting athletes foot is to keep your feet dry by changing shoes and socks daily. Cotton socks are ideal for absorbing, wet feet. Having moist sweaty feet is an excellent environment for athletes foot conditions. Use a foot powder daily applied inside your shoes to kill any fungus that may be beginning to grow. Baking soda is inexpensive and works. And finally, it is suggested that you do not go barefoot in places such as public swimming pools and locker rooms.
