Like any part of our body, there are times when the skin on our face gets itchy. There are many reasons as to why one’s face would start to itch. One common reason would be when a person is under stress. When one is anxious, they tend to get antsy and start to move a lot or some scratch a lot to lose the tension.

But under normal circumstances, itchy skin on the face can be caused by dirt. If you were out all day, you definitely are covered in dirt and grime. You would definitely have sweated a lot. The sweat would have dried out on your skin. This would make you itch a lot. To be able to combat this, make sure that you wash your face at least three times a day, especially if you have oily skin or the weather in your area is very humid. During the day, you can rinse your face or wipe it with a wet cloth to take out the dirt and grime. But since you are not using soap, you can rest assured that your skin will not dry out due to the chemicals found in the soap.

Another reason for itchy faces would be dry skin. During cold weathers, the air tends to be very dry making your skin unable to breathe. That makes your skin very dry and flaky. The flakiness makes it very itchy. To be able to help you with this, you can apply some moisturizing cream. Before going out to the cold and exposing yourself to cold winds, make sure that you cover yourself up. if you can cover parts of your face, do so. This will help you avoid windburn and dry skin that can get very itchy and even painful at times.

Too much cleaning is also not good for your skin. There is nothing wrong with cleaning your face. But if you wash your face every hour, you will strip it off its natural oils and dry your skin. Also make sure that you choose a facial cleanser that would best suit your skin type. If you have combination skin, make sure that you choose the cleanser that would best clean up your skin. It is very important that you pick the right cosmetics for your skin type, otherwise they will react with your skin and make it very dry instead.

If too much cold is bad for the skin, too much sun is equally bad for the skin. If your skin gets burned, it gets too red and sensitive. To help you with this, avoid the sun during the times of ten in the morning to two in the afternoon, when the rays of the sun are the strongest. Also remember to apply sun block creams with high levels of SPF (sun protective factor). Make sure you get the one with at least SPF 15. That way your skin will not get easily burned by the sun and will not dry out and get too itchy.
