How to Tell if Your Child is too Sick for School

In the present scenario where we all keep on hearing about cases where children die in schools because of poor medical attention it becomes extremely tricky for parents to take a decision for letting their child go school if he is suffering from some sort of ailment. To tell if your child is too sick for a school is an intricate decision which has to be taken many a times and for helping you all take a wise decision we have come up with this write up. Letting a child take a off from school creates problems for parents who are working. Because of their child they will also have to stay home to take care of them and sometimes conditions do not permit parents to take an off from their work. In such conditions it is wise to take decisions smartly.

If your child is suffering from minor headache then there is no point allowing him to take an off from school. Give him a pain killer and make him eat some energy giving food. But do ask your child if just headache is his problem. You must be able to judge when your child is lying and when he is not. Children suffering from minor headache can very comfortably attend school. In case your child complaints about stomach ache then you should first check if it’s minor or major. Sometimes stomach ache can be one of the symptoms of food poisoning, loose motion and similar other illness. If it is a minor one then give your child good food and medicine. But if the pain persists then you should not let him go school for not letting things worsen. You should take your child to the doctor and get the required prescription.

With a regular cough and cold your child can go to school. Minor flu is not a serious problem. In case your child has fever then please do not force him to go school. In fever your child should take complete rest. Even if the fever is low allow him to have rest so that fever does not rise and make things more difficult for you. This is because in fever the chances are high that your child may faint because of nausea or vomit continuously. This is why in fever your children should not go to school. At times children do not complaint but are suffering inside from something. You must be able to judge your child perfectly.

Sometimes even minor problems become major and affects drastically. So think before giving your verdict. Keep regular medicines at home so that you can instantly cure the problem. But be sure that you know what medicine you are giving to your child. If a school going kid is reading this write up then he/she must also be able to differentiate when they are suffering from minor or major ailment. Because there is no point missing school just because you had a little cold or headache.
