How to Cure Depression

Depression is a sickness relevant to anxiety. It in noticed that one in six females and one in nine males suffer. It is observed that males are more unwilling to take help and even accept that they are suffering from depression.

A non-purposeful life leads to depression because lack of principle in life causes hopelessness that is a major symptom of depression. A depressed person feels very lonely that’s why he thinks it’s better to end it. This opinion about life is very serious and becomes a reason to commit suicide. If tension persist over a long period of time then you suffering through depression.

Foremost depression and related disorder are persistent mood altering, sickness that may cause decrease body energy level, insomnia (loss of sleep), anorexia (loss of appetite), and libido (loss of sexual desire). The major symptoms of depression are extreme feelings of sadness, hopelessness, despair, failure to experience pleasure etc.

Following are the ways which help you to cure depression:

  • According to a survey, it is seen that diet has a great affect on altering your mood. Depression is out of control as it is chemical imbalance in brain. You can change your brain chemistry by altering your mood. If you eat foods that cure depression, of your own choice, then definitely you will feel happy.
  • By doing regular light exercise and walk can keep you away from depression.
  • Depression lessens automatically with the passage of time. However it varies from person to person as some may suffer from depression from years and years while some may get stress even for a short period of time depending on what are the root cause of depression.
  • Different therapies e.g. Aroma-therapy, Talk-therapy, Electroconvulsive-therapy, Light-therapy, Herbal-therapy (St.John’s wart, Gingko, Balboa) are used as remedy.
  • You may get over depression without taking help. Better relationships with family members and other community help recovery. Support from other people is vital. Seek out sincere friends. Share and discuss your personal matters with them.
  • Closing yourself off from other people is an indication of depression. As it may cause to make you more depressed as well as lonely. It will enhance your negative thoughts that no one cares about you. Visit your favorite places and meet with interesting people. Make yourself to be sociable. Start to take interest in an activity like gardening, tickets collecting, listening joyful music, painting and chatting etc, even just plan to do it.
  • If you do not get proper sleep of 7-8 hours, you will feel more tired and this will make you susceptible to depression. If you dwell on problems too much, during day time, you may feel depressed, even after sleep. Persistent brooding and thinking fuels your dream. Extreme dreaming makes you feel tired when you awake.
  • Different medicines e.g. Amitriptyline, Amoxapine, Doxepin, Desipramine, Fluoxetine, Paroxitine, Tarzodone, Isocarboxazid, Tranylcypromine and lithium salts to cure depression. Besides having powerful therapeutic uses, these drugs have side effects: Nausea, Insomnia, Sexual dysfunction, Weight-loss, Anorexia and tremors.

Although medication and therapies have their own significance but depression can also be reduced through faith in God. So use and strengthen your faith, because it minimizes your sense of isolation, and give a beautiful direction to your life. Following religion rules and to be remain contented with your present status can stay you away from depression. Don’t be so materialistic, because it will make you participant of that race whose end point is to get more and more money by hook or by crook, but final consequences are nothing except depression.
