Haste makes waste. If you follow this golden rule, you will be less prone to accidents while driving. According to a recent study by Automobile Association of America that most of the road traffic accidents are occurring due to food taken while driving. It is also seconded by several auto insurance agencies according to their register. While driving safely and following the rules of driving is mandatory, sometimes we like to become extravagant and do some foolish things. This is an important article where you will know about 10 foods to avoid while driving.
- Hot drinks – coffee and tea-these are two most notorious foods (or should we call them drinks) that are associated with accidents. It is agreed that coffee or tea can give you instant energy and will keep you awake while driving if you feel sleepy; but the thing is that you must not take the cup inside the car and lest drive while sipping from the cup. There is tremendous chance to spill over and it may really cause a mess. It may spill over the steering wheel or instrument panel. And if it spills over your pants, you are surely going to have a downward look. This is the time when most drivers face misfortunes. Now, if you are carrying a covered cup made for travelers, you are again mistaken. In any bump the lid is surely going to loosen and you face the same situation.
- Hamburgers – culprit number 2. The toppings, oils and wrapper, all of them are potential hazard while driving. They can spill out and fall over the steering, over the seats, hands and of course your trouser may become greasy.
- Chili sauce – no dressing is complete without a dash of chili sauce, at least to me. This is again a infamous food to spill over.
- Chicken Tikka Tandoori or Fried chicken – no matter how delicious the food is, you are surely going to wipe your hands either with tissues or by finger licking. The sauces also may be tasty, but there is fair chance that you may land up with colliding with another car.
- Cola – any bumpy road can destabilize the saturation of these fizzy drinks. The carbonated drinks will develop much bubble and definitely it will spill from the bottle. If you are extravagant and want to sip every drop from outside, you are really in trouble.
- Soups – for the same reason with tea or coffee, soups are infamous to be the cause of accidents.
- Chocolate – a bar can give you instant energy and you need it during long drive. But please don’t lick the chocolate too often. Rather bite it and enjoy its taste.
- Jelly donuts – holding the jelly donut for a long time can make it warm and the jelly may spill out from within. Your hands may become messed up and you can face accidents.
- Tacos – not only that, but any food that has the chance to disintegrate easily can face you trouble.
- Pizza – it’s really difficult to make a slice of cheese pizzas when it’s hot. And if you are not careful enough, you may not see the cars passing by.
These are some foods which came into my mind for a quick recap. You may find other foods not suitable while driving.
