These foods can liven up your from inside. Therefore, you will continue to enjoy a better younger looking skin for years together. Here we shall discuss about 10 foods for better skin.

  • Sea food – sea fish is a rich source of several minerals required for better skin. They also contain antioxidants those are free radical scavenger. Destroying free radicals from cells of the skin, sea foods help to keep the cells healthy for a longer time. Skin of sea fishes also contains polyunsaturated fatty acid which is useful in reducing cholesterol level in blood.
  • Carrots – carrots are great source of Vitamin A. It helps in restraining sebum production from the sebaceous glands of the skin. Less oil over the lining of the skin will result into less chance of acne and folliculitis. Carrots are also great source of Vitamin K, Vitamin B6 and Ascorbic acid. All these are essential in collagen production. Collagen helps in maintaining fibrous structure beneath the superficial part of the skin. There is less chance for wrinkle formation and your skin will look much younger.
  • Blueberries – blueberries are, by far, the richest source of antioxidants. Free radicals are normally formed after each and every physiological reaction in our body. These free radicals affect the healthy cell and destroy the homeostasis of our body. Antioxidants act as free radical scavenger and prevent damage to the cells of the skin. Blueberries also contain significant amount of Vitamin E, Vitamin C, Riboflavin, biotin and enough amount of fiber. All these are required for collagen production.
  • Flaxseed oil – this is the richest source of mono and poly-unsaturated fatty acid. Flaxseed oil can make your skin supple and help in maintaining essential oils inside the epithelial cells. It is better to take flaxseed oil raw as heating the oil may reduce its efficacy. Still, it is better to change your cooking medium to flaxseed oil.
  • Lemon – lemon contains Vitamin C or Ascorbic acid. It can protect the skin from harmful frequencies present in the sunrays like UV rays (UVA & UVB). It also reverses the skin damage caused by free radicals as Vitamin C is also a potent antioxidant.
  • Almonds – almonds contain enough amount of Vitamin E which can revitalize and rejuvenate the damaged skin tissues. It is also a good source of flavonoids which act as antioxidant.
  • Green vegetables – broccoli, spinach, lettuce and sprouts are rich in vitamins and minerals like Selenium, Zinc, Magnesium and Copper which are useful for repair of damaged skin tissues. They also help to prevent formation of inflammatory diseases of the skin like acne and rashes.
